How to edit a scheduled Facebook post

Here is how to edit a scheduled post on Facebook in Dripost before it goes out. A scheduled Page post can change right up to the minute it starts publishing. Here is where each change is made, and what an edit does to an approved post.

Who this is for

Page managers whose offer changed, whose event moved, or whose client asked for different wording after the post was already in the calendar.

1. Open it from the calendar

Click the post in the Calendar, or find it in Posts, then Queue. The card shows the Page, the time and the post as it will look.

Facebook Pages in Dripost are in live testing now: built and posting for real, open to tester accounts, and open to everyone once that test is done.

2. Change the words or the media

Press Edit. Rewrite the Facebook tab, swap the photo for another from the Library, or replace the video. The Facebook checks run again, such as one photo or one video per post and the Reel length.

3. Switch Reel and Page video

The post type sits on the Facebook tab. Change Reel to Post if the video turned out longer than 90 seconds, or the other way round for a short vertical clip.

4. Move the time

Drag the post to another day or hour in the calendar, or set a new time on its card and press Move. Pick a time in the future; a past time is refused.

5. Save changes

Press Save changes. Choosing Now instead turns the button into Save and publish now, if the post should go straight away.

6. What happens to an approval

If the Page’s client needs approvals, the yes covers only the version approved. An edit by a member other than an owner or admin sends the post back to Approvals; an owner’s or admin’s edit is approved again with their name on it.

Plan availability

Editing is on every plan. Approvals, and the fresh yes after an edit, come with Pro and Agency.

Questions

Can I edit a Facebook post after it is live?

Not from Dripost: once a post is on the Page, change it on Facebook.

Can I move a post to a different Page?

Yes, while it is still scheduled: edit it and choose the other Page’s channel.

Will my edit reach Instagram too?

Only if you edit the shared text or the Instagram tab. The Facebook tab is its own.
