What the preview checks
The fold
Instagram shows roughly the first 125 characters before “more”. The preview cuts there, so you can see whether your opening line does its job.
Limits Instagram enforces
Captions stop at 2,200 characters and 5 hashtags; a post with no photo or video can’t go out. Each is flagged before you post.
