Instagram scheduling
Auto-post to Instagram: set the time, and Dripost posts it.
Dripost can auto-post to Instagram: photos, carousels and Reels at the time you set. Add the post once, pick a time, and it goes out with your phone off.
Set Instagram to auto post, then check it went live.
- Dripost waits until Instagram has processed a video, then reads the post’s real link back.
- If Instagram refuses a post, you see Instagram’s own reason and a Retry button.
- Every account starts with 14 days of Pro, no card. After that it drops to Free unless you pick a plan.

Automate Instagram posts: three honest ways and their safety rules
You can automate Instagram posts three ways: schedule them in an app, send them through an API, or ask an AI assistant to do it, and each one needs a limit on what runs unattended. The simplest automation is a scheduler: write the posts in a batch, set the times, let them go out. Instagram’s own publishing flow on Meta’s page creates a container and publishes when called, so the waiting is the scheduler’s job.
How to set up auto posting on Instagram
Auto posting means the post goes out at its time without you pressing anything. Instagram allows it for professional accounts through its publishing API. Instagram only lets apps publish to professional accounts. Switching is free under Account type and tools in Instagram’s settings, and your followers and posts stay as they are.
n8n Instagram: schedule posts from a workflow with Dripost
In n8n you can schedule Instagram posts by pointing an HTTP Request node at Dripost’s API, so the workflow never touches Instagram’s own two-step publishing flow. Connect the Instagram professional account to Dripost once. Webhooks and n8n are part of Creator and above, and every account starts with 14 days of Pro, no card.
Questions
Does it work with a personal Instagram account?
No. Instagram only lets apps post to Business or Creator accounts. Switching is free in Instagram’s settings.
Does my phone need to be on?
No. Dripost publishes from its servers at the time you set.
Can I auto post Stories?
Not yet. Dripost posts photos, carousels and Reels.
Which apps can post to Instagram for you on a schedule?
Schedulers that connect through Instagram’s own login can, and so can Instagram itself for a professional account. Dripost also posts the same content to your other platforms.
Can I auto post from Facebook to Instagram?
Meta’s linked accounts can share a post to both as you publish it. For a different caption on each, schedule both versions from Dripost.
Can n8n post to Instagram through Dripost?
Dripost has a public API, and an n8n workflow can call it. The API page has the keys and limits, and we have not published a tested n8n workflow yet.
Which apps that auto post on Instagram are allowed?
Apps that use Instagram's official API with a Business or Creator account, such as Dripost. Apps that ask for your Instagram password break Instagram's terms and put the account at risk.
Are there free apps to auto post on Instagram?
Yes. Dripost's free plan schedules to three channels, ten posts per channel a month, through the official API.
