LinkedIn Post Drafts: Where to Find and Save Them

LinkedIn post drafts hold an idea until it is ready. This guide shows where to find post drafts on LinkedIn, how to find drafts when the option is hidden, and how to keep them in a place you can always reach.

Where to find post drafts on LinkedIn

On LinkedIn, click Start a post. If you have a saved draft, LinkedIn shows a Drafts option inside the post box. Closing the box without posting usually asks whether to save it as a draft. Menus move, so if you do not see it, search LinkedIn's Help for “drafts”.

Drafts are tied to your account. Another account, or another LinkedIn tool, will not show them.

How to find draft posts on LinkedIn from another device

Sign in to the same account and open Start a post. If a draft does not appear, it was probably saved in the other place. Drafts kept in Dripost are in Posts, then Drafts, on any computer.

1. Write the idea down

Open the composer, tick LinkedIn and write whatever you have: a hook, three bullet points, a story half told. You can start before LinkedIn is connected. Dripost posts to your personal LinkedIn profile. Company Pages need a LinkedIn partner approval Dripost doesn’t have, so they can’t be connected.

2. Save draft

Choose Draft (“Keep it in Drafts to finish later”) and press Save draft. It waits in Posts, then Drafts, with any images you attached.

3. Build a bank of drafts

The Drafts list shows every unfinished post in one place, across platforms. On a busy week, the one ready to finish is already there.

4. Finish against the fold

Open a draft and press Edit. Rewrite the first 210 characters until they stand alone; the preview shows exactly what readers see before “see more”.

5. Get a second opinion

On a team, anyone who can write posts can open the draft. On Pro, you can also send a post to a client for approval through a no-login link.

6. Schedule it

Switch from Draft to Schedule and choose a time, or press Add to queue to take the next LinkedIn posting time.

Rework old drafts into new posts

A draft that never felt right can be the start of a better one. Open it, keep the example or the number that was good, and rewrite the hook. Delete the ones you know you’ll never use, so the list stays useful.

    Questions

Do Dripost drafts sync with LinkedIn’s own drafts?

No. They stay in Dripost until they are published.

What if I close the window without saving?

The draft stays on that device, and the next New asks “Resume unfinished post?”. Save it to reach it elsewhere.

Can I turn a scheduled post back into a draft?

Yes: open it, choose More, then Move to drafts.

Can a draft be for LinkedIn and X at once?

Yes. Tick both and each gets its own tab, so the LinkedIn version can be long while the X version stays within 280 characters.
