LinkedIn Post Size: Image, Banner and Article Image Sizes

The best LinkedIn post size is 1080 by 1350 pixels (4:5) or 1080 by 1080. This guide covers the post and carousel size, the LinkedIn article image size, the cover photo and banner sizes, and the CFBR question.

LinkedIn article image size

LinkedIn does not publish one article image size that we could verify, so use a wide image around 1200 by 627 pixels, about 1.91:1, the shape LinkedIn uses for shared link images, and check the preview in the editor. LinkedIn post image size for a normal post is 1080 pixels wide.

LinkedIn cover photo size and banner size

The usual LinkedIn cover photo size for a personal profile is 1584 by 396 pixels, a 4:1 shape. A company page banner is about 1128 by 191. Both overlap with the profile picture at the bottom left, so keep the key part away from that corner. LinkedIn cover image size changes, so check the upload screen.

Carousel size for a LinkedIn post

A LinkedIn carousel is a document post, usually a PDF with square 1080 by 1080 or portrait 1080 by 1350 pages. Dripost sends images, so make a document post in LinkedIn itself.

1. Width: 1080 pixels

LinkedIn’s Marketing Solutions help page “Share photos on LinkedIn” asks for photos at least 552 by 276 pixels, and recommends 1080 pixels wide.

2. Shape: 3:1 to 4:5

The same page gives an aspect ratio range from 3:1 (wide) to 4:5 (tall). A 1080 by 1350 portrait image is the tallest in range and takes the most room in a phone feed; 1080 by 1080 square is the safe middle.

3. Several images: keep to 4:5 or wider

For a multi-photo post the help page gives 4:5 as the tallest ratio. Dripost sends up to 9 images in one LinkedIn post, so export a set in one shape.

4. File size

LinkedIn’s help page gives 5 MB as the upload limit for a photo. A 1080-pixel JPG is usually well under it; very large PNG exports may not be.

5. Video

A LinkedIn post takes one video instead of images. If LinkedIn can’t process a video, Dripost suggests an MP4 under 10 minutes, which clears most problems.

6. Check before scheduling

The file tile in Dripost’s composer shows each image’s width and height. Dripost sends files as uploaded, never re-compressed or cropped, so fix the size before you attach it.

Text on images

Graphics with words read on a small phone screen. Keep type large, keep it away from the edges, and check the image at phone size before exporting. A square or 4:5 canvas leaves more room for readable text than a wide one.

    Questions

What is the best LinkedIn post image size?

    1080 by 1350 (4:5) or 1080 by 1080 (square), within LinkedIn’s published 3:1 to 4:5 range.

How many images can a LinkedIn post have?

LinkedIn’s own help allows more, but Dripost sends up to 9 per post.

Why is my image blurry on LinkedIn?

Usually it was smaller than 1080 pixels wide, or LinkedIn had to shrink a large file. Export at 1080 wide.

CFBR meaning on LinkedIn: what is it?

CFBR means “comment for better reach”. People type it, and variants such as CBFR, under a post hoping to boost it. LinkedIn publishes no rule that makes this work, so write a real comment instead.

CBFR meaning on LinkedIn: is it a typo?

Usually yes. CBFR is a common misspelling of CFBR, which stands for comment for better reach. It is a habit, not a feature, and nothing LinkedIn has published says it helps. A thoughtful reply is worth more.
