How to save tweet drafts you can finish later

Here is how to draft X posts in Dripost and finish them later. Most good X posts start as a rough line jotted down between other things. A drafts list keeps those lines until they’re ready.

Who this is for

People who collect post ideas through the day, teams where posts are written by one person and checked by another, and anyone who wants post ideas kept somewhere any computer can reach.

1. Jot it down

Open the composer, tick X and write the line. It can be over 280 for now; a draft is where you trim it later. You can start before X is connected.

2. Save draft

Pick Draft (“Keep it in Drafts to finish later”) and press Save draft. It lands in Posts, then Drafts, alongside drafts for every other platform.

3. Sharpen it

Open the draft and press Edit. The X count follows X’s own rules, with links at 23 and most emoji at two. Trim to 280 cuts at the exact point X would, if you want a starting cut.

4. Let someone else look

Drafts belong to the workspace, so a teammate who can write posts can open and polish it. On Pro, approvals add a formal yes before it goes out.

5. Schedule or queue it

Switch Draft to Schedule and pick a time, or Add to queue to drop it into the next weekly X posting time.

6. Pull a scheduled post back

Open a scheduled X post and choose More, then Move to drafts. The time clears and the words stay.

A drafts habit that works

Save the raw line the moment you have it, then set aside ten minutes a day to finish two or three. Drafts for every platform sit in one list, so the X ideas and the LinkedIn ideas are in the same place when you sit down.

Drafts that go to more than X

A draft can carry X and other platforms together. The X tab keeps its 280-character version while LinkedIn or Threads hold the longer one, so one idea becomes a post for each without being written twice.

Plan availability

Drafts are on every plan. Pro adds 5 people and approvals.

Questions

Do Dripost drafts show in X’s drafts?

No. They stay in Dripost until they are posted.

What if I close without saving?

The draft stays on that device, and the next New asks “Resume unfinished post?”.

Can I delete a draft?

Yes: More, then Delete draft, confirmed once.
