How to post on LinkedIn from a computer, now or later
Here is how to post from a computer to LinkedIn with Dripost. Most LinkedIn posts are written at a desk anyway. Writing them in a scheduler on the same computer adds a real preview, a fold line and a time of your choosing.
Who this is for
People who draft LinkedIn posts in a notes app or a document before pasting them in, and anyone who wants to write on Sunday and post on Tuesday morning.
1. Open Dripost in a browser
Any current browser on macOS or Windows works; there is nothing to download. Sign in with an emailed code, Google, a passkey or a password.
2. Connect LinkedIn
Open Channels and add LinkedIn. You sign in on LinkedIn’s own page and allow posting and reading your name. Dripost posts to your personal LinkedIn profile. Company Pages need a LinkedIn partner approval Dripost doesn’t have, so they can’t be connected.
3. Write with the fold in view
Press N for a new post, tick LinkedIn and write. The preview beside it marks where LinkedIn cuts to “…see more”, at about 210 characters or the third line break, and the count runs to 3,000.
4. Add photos or a video from a folder
Drag up to 9 images, or one video, onto the composer, or pick them from your Library. Large files upload straight from the browser to storage.
5. Now, later, or keep as a draft
Pick Now to post as soon as you press it, Schedule for a set time, or Draft to finish later. A scheduled post goes out from Dripost’s servers, so the laptop can be closed.
6. Get the live link
When LinkedIn accepts the post, Dripost shows its link. Open it to reply to the first comments from your readers.
Keyboard habits that help
Write the hook last, once you know what the post says. Keep paragraphs to one or two lines with a blank line between, which LinkedIn keeps as typed. Read the preview once more for the fold before scheduling.
Plan availability
Posting to LinkedIn from the browser is on every plan. Free allows 10 posts per channel a month; Creator is unlimited within fair use.
