How to Post a Video on LinkedIn from Your Computer
You can post a video on LinkedIn from your computer with four things: an MP4 under 500 MB, a clip between 3 seconds and 30 minutes, a caption, and a time to publish.
1. Get the file ready
Export an MP4 no larger than 500 MB. LinkedIn’s documented range is 3 seconds to 30 minutes.
2. Connect your LinkedIn profile
Dripost posts a video to your personal profile. Company pages are text only in Dripost, so a video won’t go to one.
3. Upload and write the post
Add the video in the composer and write your caption. One video goes in each LinkedIn post.
The file is posted as you uploaded it, never re-encoded and with no watermark.
4. Look at the preview
The preview shows the LinkedIn version. If LinkedIn would refuse the post, it’s flagged with the reason while you can still fix it.
5. Post now or schedule
Pick a time or post straight away. If LinkedIn refuses anything, you get an email with its reason and a Retry button.
LinkedIn post best practices for video
Put the point of the video in the first line of the caption, which shows before “see more”, and keep the video itself short. Add captions to the video file, because many people watch with the sound off, and check the preview before you post. To schedule LinkedIn video posts, pick the time in Dripost instead of posting now.
