How to manage multiple Instagram accounts without logging out
Here is how to manage multiple Instagram accounts. Instagram lets one person add several accounts to the app and switch between them without logging out. That covers looking at each account; planning posts for all of them is a separate job.
1. Add each account to the Instagram app
Instagram’s help page on adding and switching accounts says you can sign in to more than one account in the app and move between them without logging out each time. Use the Instagram app’s own settings to add the next account; the help page has the current steps for your device.
Each account keeps its own username, password and followers. Adding it to the switcher does not merge anything.
2. Switch from your profile
Open your profile and use the username at the top to pick another account. Notifications can arrive from every account you added, so check which one you are in before you reply or post.
3. Know what the switcher does not do
The switcher is for one person on one device. It does not plan a week of posts for six accounts, and it gives a freelancer’s client no way to see a post before it goes out.
Posting from the wrong account is the usual accident. A caption written for a bakery that lands on a gym’s feed is hard to explain.
4. Keep each account’s work separate
Give every account its own folder of media, its own list of posting times and its own caption notes, whatever tool you use. Mixing them is how the wrong photo goes to the wrong feed.
If the accounts belong to different clients, agree in writing who approves posts and how quickly, so a post is not stuck waiting for a reply.
5. Manage multiple Instagram accounts as separate clients in Dripost
In Dripost each client has its own channels, posting times, media, approval rule and review links, and a post only publishes through its own client’s accounts. You switch clients from the client switcher.
Plans count clients: Free 1, Creator 2, Pro 5 and Agency 15, with extra clients available on Pro and Agency. You connect each Instagram account once, and no teammate needs its password.
Dripost reads back the live link after Instagram finishes processing, so you can see each post really went out.
Instagram for agencies: running client accounts without chaos
An agency does not need a cleverer way to log in. It needs a clear line between clients, a record of who approved what, and proof that each post went out.
Keep each client on their own account. Instagram’s account switcher lets one person move between several accounts on a phone. That is fine for looking in. It is not a plan for six clients, because nothing in it stops a caption landing on the wrong feed.
Agree the approval rule first. Decide who signs off, how long they have, and what silence means, before the first post. The most common agency delay is a finished post waiting on a client who was never told it needed them.
Show the client the real post. Clients approve faster when they see the post as it will look, with the video playing, than when they read a caption pasted into an email. A screenshot of a spreadsheet row asks them to imagine it.
Instagram permissions: how to let someone manage your account
To let someone work on your Instagram account, give them access through Instagram’s own supported route, not your password.
The goal: access without the password. Instagram’s help centre has a page on giving someone access to your account. It is worth reading before anything else, because it sets out the supported way, and Meta changes the menu names often.
Why not share the login. A shared password lets anyone who holds it do everything, including change the email and lock you out. It also leaves no record of who did what, and a security prompt can land on someone’s phone you don’t control.
What a Collab invite is not. Inviting a collaborator on a post puts another account on that one post. It is not a permission on your account.

Questions
Can I post to two Instagram accounts at once?
Not from one post. In Dripost you write one post per client, or copy it and adjust it for each, so every account gets its own caption and time.
Do I need a different email for each account?
That is an Instagram account rule, so check the Instagram help page on adding accounts. Dripost connects each account through its own login, not its email.
Will clients see my other accounts?
Not in Dripost. A client’s review link shows only that client’s posts.
How can one person manage several Instagram accounts?
Add each account to the Instagram app and switch from your profile, then use a scheduler such as Dripost to plan posts for each one as its own client.
Which apps manage multiple Instagram accounts?
Schedulers that connect each account through Instagram’s own login can do it. In Dripost, each account is a client with its own channels, calendar and posting times.
How many Instagram clients can I manage in Dripost?
Free 1, Creator 2, Pro 5 and Agency 15 clients, with extra clients on Pro and Agency.
Do my clients need a Dripost account?
No. They open a review link with no login and no seat.
How do I give someone access to my Instagram account?
Follow Instagram’s help page on giving someone access to your account; the steps change, so use the current page.
Is a Collab post the same as giving access?
No. It adds an account to one post only.
