Guide
How to delete a scheduled tweet
Here is how to delete a scheduled post on X in Dripost. Timing is everything on X, and sometimes the right move is not to post. Three ways to stop a scheduled post, each keeping something different.
Who this is for
Anyone whose scheduled post no longer fits the moment: breaking news, a sensitive day, a product delay, or a post that simply reads wrong on second look.
1. Open the post
Find it on the Calendar or in Posts, then Queue, and open its card.
2. Hold it for later
More, then Move to drafts. The time is cleared and the words wait in Drafts until the moment is right.
3. Cancel it
More, then Cancel post, and confirm. It won’t go out by any route, including a retry. Dripost keeps the text on record.
4. Delete a draft
For a post already in Drafts, More shows Delete draft. Confirm once and it is gone.
5. Keep it on other platforms
If the same post goes to Threads or LinkedIn, cancelling stops them all. To drop only X, press Edit, untick X, and save.
6. Check the queue
A weekly posting time the post held is free again; the next post added to the queue takes it.
On sensitive days
If something serious is happening, open Posts, then Queue, and read what is due in the next hours. Move to drafts anything whose tone could land badly; it is quicker than rewriting under pressure and nothing is lost.
Cancel, move or delete: a quick rule
If the post could still work another day, move it to drafts. If it should never go out but you want a record that it was scheduled, cancel it. If it was a mistake and you want no trace of it, delete it once it is a draft.
Plan availability
On every plan. On Free, cancelling frees one of the 10 places for posts waiting at once.
Questions
Can Dripost delete a tweet that is already live?
No. Delete it on X. Dripost stops posts before they go out.
What if it is sending right now?
Once it has started posting it can’t be recalled from Dripost; check X and delete it there.
Who can cancel it?
Anyone on the team with permission to write posts.
Does cancelling tell anyone on X?
No. Nothing reached X, so no follower sees anything.
Can I stop a whole day of posts at once?
Open Posts, then Queue, where the day’s posts are listed together, and move or cancel each one from its card.
