How to cancel a scheduled YouTube upload

To delete a scheduled post for YouTube in Dripost, you cancel it or move it back to drafts. A scheduled video in Dripost hasn’t touched YouTube yet. Stopping it is clean: nothing needs removing from the channel.

Who this is for

Creators pushing a release back, channels pulling a video after feedback, and teams who scheduled the wrong cut.

1. Find the upload

Open the post from the Calendar or from Posts, then Queue.

2. Push it back: Move to drafts

Choose More, then Move to drafts. The upload time is cleared; the file, title, description, thumbnail choice and first comment stay together in Drafts.

3. Call it off: Cancel post

Choose More, then Cancel post, and confirm. The video will not upload. Dripost keeps the text on record.

4. Clear it out: Delete draft

A post in Drafts offers Delete draft under More. Confirm once and it is removed. The video file stays in your Library.

5. Free up storage

Big video files use storage. If you won’t use the file again, delete it in the Library. Dripost refuses to delete a file another post still uses, so nothing breaks by accident.

6. Only stopping YouTube?

If the same post also goes to Instagram as a Reel, cancelling stops both. Press Edit, untick YouTube and save to keep the Reel.

Cancel or move: which to choose

Moving to drafts suits a video that will go out later, perhaps after a fix or a better date. Cancelling suits a video that should never go out, while keeping a record that it was scheduled. Deleting a draft is for clearing out work you don’t need at all.

Plan availability

All of this is on every plan. Library storage is 200 MB on Free and 2 GB on Creator, so clearing unused videos matters most on Free.

Questions

Can Dripost delete a video that is already on my channel?

No. Delete or hide a live video in YouTube Studio.

What if the upload has already started?

Once it is uploading, it can’t be pulled back from Dripost. Set it to private or delete it in YouTube Studio if needed.

Can I get a cancelled upload back?

Use Move to drafts if you may want it again: a draft can be rescheduled any time.

Does cancelling tell my subscribers anything?

No. Nothing reached YouTube, so there is nothing for subscribers to see or be notified about.

Who on my team can cancel an upload?

Anyone with permission to write posts. Viewers and approvers can see scheduled uploads but can’t cancel them.
