How to Upload a Video to YouTube: Studio or Dripost
You can upload a video to YouTube in three actions. In YouTube Studio you press Create, choose Upload videos and pick your file. It takes three actions; the choices that matter come after.
1. Check the file first
YouTube takes up to 256 GB or 12 hours. An unverified account is held to 15 minutes per video, so verify the account by phone if yours is longer.
Export in H.264, which is the codec YouTube recommends, at 16:9 for a normal video.
2. How to upload a video to YouTube in YouTube Studio
Sign in to YouTube Studio, click Create, then Upload videos, and choose the file. You can add up to 15 videos at a time.
Fill in the title and description while it uploads. In Dripost the limits are 100 characters for the title and 5,000 for the description.
3. Choose who can see it
Private, Unlisted or Public. Public is the default for viewers 18 and over; private is the default for 13 to 17.
To publish later, choose Schedule and pick the date. The video stays private until then.
4. Wait for processing
YouTube processes the file after upload. Higher qualities such as 4K or HD take longer, and so can long videos and busy periods. The video is not ready to watch at full quality until that finishes.
5. Or post it with Dripost
Upload the video once, pick YouTube, add title, description and visibility, then post now or schedule it. The file reaches YouTube as you exported it, never re-encoded and with no watermark.
Dripost waits until YouTube has processed the video, then shows its link. If YouTube refuses it, you get an email with YouTube’s own reason and a Retry button.
When to upload a video to YouTube

The best time to upload video on YouTube is an hour or two before your viewers are most active, so the video has finished processing when they arrive. YouTube Studio's Analytics shows this on the 'When your viewers are on YouTube' card.
