How to delete a scheduled LinkedIn post

Here is how to delete a scheduled post on LinkedIn in Dripost. Three ways to stop a LinkedIn post before it goes out, each keeping something different.

Who this is for

Anyone whose announcement was pulled, whose job news isn’t public yet, or who scheduled a post in the wrong week.

1. Open the scheduled post

Find it on the Calendar or in Posts, then Queue, and open its card.

2. Hold it: Move to drafts

More, then Move to drafts, clears the time and keeps the text and images in Drafts. Use this when the news is only delayed.

3. Stop it: Cancel post

More, then Cancel post, and confirm. It will not go out. Dripost keeps the words on record.

4. Remove it: Delete draft

If the post is already a draft, More shows Delete draft. Confirm once and it is gone. Images stay in the Library.

5. Drop LinkedIn only

If the post also goes to X or Threads, cancelling stops all of them. To keep those, press Edit, untick LinkedIn and save.

6. The queue closes the gap

A weekly posting time that the post held is free again, and the next post you add to the queue takes it.

Before cancelling a post someone else wrote

On a shared workspace, tell the writer first: moving the post to drafts keeps their words where they can see them, while a cancelled post is out of the way for good. When in doubt, move it to drafts and let them decide.

When the news is sensitive

For job changes, deals or announcements that aren’t public yet, cancel the post rather than leaving it scheduled with a far-off date. A cancelled post won’t go out by any route, including a retry, which is the safest place for something that must not appear early.

Plan availability

Available on every plan. On Free, cancelling frees one of the 10 places for posts waiting at once.
