How to Cross Post From Facebook to Instagram, Step by Step

Here are the steps. Meta lets you share between the two once the accounts are linked, and a scheduler does the same, plus the rest of your platforms.

1. Link the accounts so you can cross post between Facebook and Instagram

In Meta’s Accounts Center, add your Facebook Page and Instagram account. Once linked, the Facebook and Instagram apps offer to share a post to the other.

2. Or schedule both from Dripost

Connect Instagram and your Facebook Page in Dripost, write the post once, and tick both. Facebook in Dripost is in live testing now, open to tester accounts.

Dripost is free to start: every account gets 14 days of Pro with no card, then a Free plan you can keep.

3. Each fitted to its platform

One post, a tab per platform: change the Instagram caption without touching Facebook’s. A vertical video goes to Instagram as a Reel and to Facebook as a Reel or Page video.

4. Add the rest

Tick YouTube, LinkedIn, X or Threads in the same post, and get a link to each live post.

How to cross post Instagram to YouTube, Threads and more

Most Instagram content can live somewhere else too. A vertical Reel is a YouTube Short in waiting; a strong caption can become a LinkedIn post or a Threads post.

Start from the Instagram version. Write the post and attach the photo, carousel or video as you would for Instagram. Anything you type or attach before choosing platforms seeds every platform you turn on afterwards.

Tick the other platforms. All six platforms sit in one row in the composer. Tick YouTube, LinkedIn, Threads or X next to Instagram. Two Instagram accounts ticked together go out as two posts, one per account.

Give each platform its own words. Every platform gets its own tab. Change the LinkedIn text without touching the Instagram caption, and use Reset to go back to the shared version. The AI Assistant can also redo the caption for each platform if you want a starting point.
