How to Add a Link to a Facebook Post, and Fix the Preview
You can add a link to a Facebook post by pasting it into the text. Facebook is one of the few platforms where a link in the post text is a normal thing to share, and a little care with the page’s preview image makes it look far better.
Who this is for
Pages that send people to a blog, an online shop, a booking page or a sign-up form, and anyone whose shared links look plain or cropped in the feed.
1. Add a link to your Facebook post: paste it into the text
Write the post in the Facebook tab and paste the full address, https and all. Dripost sends the text exactly as written; the link counts toward the length as the characters you typed.
Facebook Pages in Dripost are in live testing now: built and posting for real, open to tester accounts, and open to everyone once that test is done.
2. Say why someone should click
One line on what they get beats “link below”. Put that line first, before the address, so it reads well even when Facebook folds a long post behind See more.
3. Fix the preview image on your own site
The picture Facebook shows for a link comes from the page you link to. Meta’s developer guide on images in link shares recommends at least 1200 by 630 pixels, no smaller than 600 by 315, and close to 1.91:1 so nothing is cropped.
4. Or post a photo with the link in the text
If you would rather show your own picture, attach one photo and put the link in the text. Dripost sends one photo or one video per Facebook post.
5. Share the same link elsewhere
Tick LinkedIn, X or Threads in the same post. Each tab counts the link its own way: X counts every link as 23 characters, and Threads allows up to 5 links in a post.
6. Schedule and check
Pick a time and schedule. Once Facebook has the post, Dripost shows its link so you can check the preview on the Page.
Plan availability
Links in Facebook posts work the same on every plan.

Questions
Can I put the link in the first comment on Facebook?
Not with Dripost: it posts first comments on Instagram and YouTube only. Keep the link in the post text.
Why does my link show the wrong picture?
Facebook takes it from the linked page’s own settings. Change the image on that page, using Meta’s size guidance.
Does Dripost shorten links?
No. The link goes out as you wrote it.
How do I add a link to a Facebook post image?
Facebook does not make a photo clickable. Post the photo and put the link in the text under it, so people can tap the link beside the picture.
How do I add a link to a Facebook post from a computer?
Paste the link in the post box and wait for the preview card to appear. Then you can delete the pasted link from the text if you want a cleaner post, and the card stays.
