Guide
Facebook Post Size: Photo, Cover, Event and Reel Sizes
Facebook accepts many shapes, but a few Facebook post sizes decide how a Page looks. This guide covers the post and link image size, the cover and event cover sizes, and the Reel size, plus what a post is in pixels.
What size is a Facebook post?
A photo post is shared at the shape you upload, and Facebook resizes it for the feed, so there is no one required size. For a link, use at least 1200 by 630 pixels, about 1.91:1. For video, use the Reel rules below. In pixels, a vertical Reel is 1080 by 1920.
Facebook cover size and cover photo size
The usual Facebook cover photo size for a Page is about 820 by 312 pixels on a computer. The phone crops it to a taller view, so keep the main part in the middle. Facebook changes these, so check the upload screen.
Facebook event cover photo size, banner and image
The recommended Facebook event cover photo size is about 1920 by 1005 pixels, roughly 1.91:1. People also search for the Facebook event banner size and the Facebook event image size, and these are all the same cover picture. Keep text away from the edges, because phones crop the sides.
Facebook Reel size: vertical and short
Meta’s Reels publishing documentation sets a Reel at 9:16, at least 540 by 960 pixels, lasting 3 to 90 seconds. 1080 by 1920 is a common export that meets it.
Facebook Pages in Dripost are in live testing now: built and posting for real, open to tester accounts, and open to everyone once that test is done.
2. Page videos: everything else
A landscape video, or one longer than 90 seconds, goes to the Page as a regular video rather than a Reel. Dripost suggests the right form from the file’s shape and length, and you can change it on the Facebook tab.
3. Link previews: 1200 by 630
For a shared link, Facebook shows the image the linked page names. Meta’s developer guide on images in link shares recommends at least 1200 by 630 pixels, a minimum of 600 by 315, and an aspect ratio close to 1.91:1 so the feed shows it without cropping.
4. Photos: one per post
Dripost sends one photo per Facebook post, exactly as uploaded, never re-compressed or cropped. Crop it to the shape you want before uploading.
5. See the size before you schedule
The file tile in the composer shows width, height and, for a video, the length. A Reel outside 3 to 90 seconds is stopped; a landscape or undersized Reel is flagged as something Facebook may crop or refuse.
6. Large files
There is no need to shrink a long Page video: Dripost has Facebook fetch files up to 1 GB and uploads larger ones in parts.
