How to add an admin to a LinkedIn Page: roles and who can do it
Here is how to add an admin to a LinkedIn Page. The person who creates a LinkedIn Page becomes its super admin and can assign other people as admins of it.
Who starts with control
LinkedIn’s help says that once you create a Page you become its super admin and can assign others to admin roles. Creating a Page works on desktop and iOS, not Android.
How to add an admin to a LinkedIn Page: the admin roles
A Super admin has every permission: adding or removing any admin, editing Page info, creating job postings and deactivating the Page.
A Content admin creates and manages Page content, including posts, boosting posts and events. An Analyst sees only the Analytics tab and has limited access in third-party tools.
Super and content admins who create job postings may need to verify their email.
Paid media roles, and how someone becomes an admin
Separate paid media admin roles exist too: Sponsored Content poster, Lead Gen Forms manager and Landing Pages manager, all in Campaign Manager. A member can hold both a Page role and a paid media role.
Roles can go to members, associated employees and advertisers. To become an admin you request access, or an existing admin grants it.
Choosing who gets what
Whatever the role names are today, the principle is stable. Keep one or two super admins, preferably people who are staying, and give everyone else the narrowest role that lets them do their work.
Record who holds each role, and check it when someone changes job.
Posting through Dripost instead
In Dripost, the LinkedIn Page is connected once, by someone who already has the right on LinkedIn. Colleagues then plan and schedule posts as editors, and approvers can read and approve without using a paid seat.
Seats are Free 1, Creator 1, Pro 5 and Agency 10, with approvers free on Pro.
Dripost does not offer LinkedIn numbers, so keep using LinkedIn’s own analytics for results.
Manage multiple LinkedIn accounts: what is allowed and what is not
LinkedIn’s rule is one profile per person. If you were looking for a way to run several personal profiles, the answer from LinkedIn is that you should not.
What LinkedIn says. LinkedIn’s help page states that creating multiple profiles is not allowed under its Professional Community Policies and User Agreement. It also says accounts should use your real name, not a company name or a pseudonym.
Why that matters for an agency. You cannot open a second personal profile to post as a client’s founder. Your own profile is yours, and the founder’s profile is the founder’s.
Founder and executive profiles. If a client wants posts on their own profile, they connect it themselves. You write and plan the post, they approve it, and it goes out under their name with their say-so.
