Schedule an Instagram Carousel: Slides, Caption and Time
You can schedule an Instagram carousel like any other post. A carousel is one post with several slides that people swipe through, and Instagram lets apps publish them to professional accounts.
Can you schedule Instagram carousels?
Yes. Add the slides in order, write one caption and pick a time, and Dripost publishes the set when it is due. You schedule Instagram carousel posts the same way you schedule a single photo.
Who this is for
Anyone posting step-by-step tips, before-and-after shots, product ranges or event photos to Instagram who would rather set the whole set up once on a computer than build it on a phone at posting time.
1. Check the account type
Publishing from an app works for Instagram Business and Creator accounts. If yours is personal, switch it free under Account type and tools in Instagram’s settings, then connect it in Dripost under Channels.
2. Add the slides in order
Attach between 2 and 10 items in the composer, then drag the tiles into the order people should swipe (Alt and the arrow keys move a tile too). The first one leads the post. Dripost takes at most one video in a post, and inside a carousel that video plays as a slide rather than as a Reel.
3. Keep every slide the same shape
A carousel reads best when every slide shares one aspect ratio. Instagram’s help centre gives the photo range as 1.91:1 landscape to 4:5 portrait, at up to 1080 pixels wide. Dripost sends each file as you made it and never crops it for you, so crop before you upload.
4. Write one caption for the set
A carousel has a single caption, up to 2,200 characters. The preview marks where Instagram folds it behind “more”, about 125 characters in, so say what the swipe is for in that first line. Hashtags can go in the first comment instead.
5. Label AI-made images
If any slide was generated with AI, tick the AI-generated label in the Instagram options. Dripost passes it to Instagram on the carousel itself, which is where Instagram accepts it.
6. Schedule, then wait for the link
Pick a time or press Add to queue. At posting time Dripost prepares every slide, waits until Instagram has finished processing them, publishes, and then reads back the live post’s own link.
Plan availability
Carousels are on every plan, Free included, within its 10 posts per channel a month. Files count toward your Library storage: 200 MB on Free, 2 GB on Creator.

Questions
How many slides can an Instagram carousel have in Dripost?
Up to 10 items in one post.
Can I mix photos and a video?
Yes, one video with photos. Inside a carousel the video is a slide, not a Reel.
Can the same slides go to Facebook or Threads?
Not as a carousel: Dripost sends one photo or one video per Facebook or Threads post today. Pick those platforms in a separate post with the image that matters most.
Can you schedule carousel posts on Instagram for a personal account?
Scheduling through an app needs a professional account, which is free to switch to. Add the slides in order, write one caption and pick a time.
