How to post on YouTube from a computer, scheduled

Here is how to post from a computer to YouTube with Dripost. Most YouTube videos are edited on a computer. Uploading from the same machine, with every field filled and a time set, means the phone never has to be involved.

Who this is for

Creators who edit in Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci or CapCut on a desktop, and anyone who wants to set the upload time now and not babysit a progress bar later.

1. Open Dripost in the browser

It runs in any current browser on a Mac or Windows PC, with nothing to install. Connect YouTube under Channels with the Google account that owns the channel.

2. Drop in the exported file

Drag the video onto the composer. It uploads from your browser straight to storage in parts; if the tab closes partway, attaching the same file again within a few hours carries on from the parts already sent.

3. Title, description and visibility

Type a title up to 100 characters, or let Dripost take one from your first sentence. The description takes up to 5,000 characters. Choose public, unlisted or private.

4. Thumbnail and first comment

Pick a custom thumbnail from your Library if your channel is verified with YouTube; if it isn’t, the video still goes up and Dripost tells you the thumbnail was skipped. Add a first comment if you want one.

5. Choose when it goes up

Publish now, or schedule: at that time Dripost uploads the video to YouTube from storage, so your computer doesn’t need to be on.

6. Get the link when it’s live

Dripost asks YouTube how processing is going until the video is ready, then shows the link. YouTube keeps videos uploaded by apps it hasn’t audited private until the audit passes. If YouTube does that, Dripost tells you on the post rather than calling the video public.

Plan availability

Uploading from a computer is how Dripost works on every plan. Video files count toward storage: 200 MB on Free, 2 GB on Creator, 25 GB on Pro and 100 GB on Agency.

Questions

Is this different from uploading in YouTube Studio?

YouTube Studio uploads now and can set a publish time. Dripost holds the file and uploads it at the time you choose, alongside your other platforms.

Can I upload a 4K file?

Yes, within your plan’s storage. Dripost sends the file as it is, and YouTube processes it.

What if the upload is interrupted at posting time?

If it stopped partway, nothing was posted and Dripost says it is safe to try again. If YouTube can’t confirm whether it landed, Dripost asks you to check the channel before retrying, so a second copy never goes up by accident.
