How to post on Threads from a computer

Who this is for

Writers, founders and creators who draft on a laptop, and anyone who wants their Threads posts scheduled alongside Instagram and LinkedIn from the same desk.

1. Open Dripost in a browser

It works in any current browser on macOS or Windows, with nothing to install. Sign in with an emailed code, Google, a passkey or a password.

2. Connect Threads

Open Channels, add Threads and approve on Threads’ own page.

Threads in Dripost is in live testing now: built and posting for real, open to tester accounts, and open to everyone once that test is done.

3. Write the whole thought

Press N, tick Threads and write. Up to 500 characters is one post; longer text is split at paragraphs and sentences into a chain of up to 10 posts, each a reply to the one before. The Threads tab tells you how many posts it will be.

4. Drag in a photo or video

Drop one image or one video from a folder, or pick one from the Library. It rides on the first post of a chain. Uploads go from the browser straight to storage.

5. Post now or schedule

Choose Now, Schedule or Draft. A scheduled post goes out from Dripost’s servers, so the computer can sleep.

6. Open the link

Dripost checks with Threads until the post has its public link and shows it. If a later reply in a chain was refused, the post still counts as live and Dripost tells you how far it got, so you can add the rest by hand.

Paragraphs make better chains

The split prefers paragraph breaks, then sentence ends, and never cuts inside a word or a link. Writing in short paragraphs gives you control over where each post in the chain begins.

Plan availability

Posting to Threads from the browser is on every plan once Threads is open to you. Free allows 10 posts per channel a month.
