How to edit a scheduled tweet before it posts
Here is how to edit a scheduled post on X in Dripost before it goes out. A scheduled X post isn’t on X yet, so every word of it can still change. Here is where to do it and what to watch for.
Who this is for
Anyone whose scheduled post needs a fix: news moved on, a number changed, a joke aged badly overnight, or a better line came to mind.
1. Find the post
Click it on the Calendar or open Posts, then Queue. The card shows the words exactly as they’ll post.
2. Edit the words
Press Edit and rewrite the X tab. The count keeps to X’s rules as you type: links at 23, most emoji at two. Over 280 is stopped, and Trim to 280 gives you the exact cut.
3. Move the time
Drag the post to a new slot on the calendar, or set a time on its card and press Move. With fast-moving news, moving it sooner can matter as much as the words.
4. Save
Press Save changes. Choose Now if it should go straight away, and the button becomes Save and publish now.
5. Posts shared with other platforms
If the same post goes to Threads or LinkedIn, the X tab has its own text. Editing it leaves the others alone; untick X to drop it from this post altogether.
6. With approvals on
On a client that needs approval, an edit by anyone other than an owner or admin sends the post back for a new yes, so nothing goes out that wasn’t approved as it stands.
Changing which account posts it
With more than one X account connected, edit the post and pick the other one. A post ticked for both accounts goes out as two posts, one on each.
Plan availability
Editing scheduled posts is on every plan. Approvals come with Pro and Agency.
Questions
Can Dripost edit a tweet that is already posted?
No. Once it is on X, any change is made on X.
How late can I edit?
Until it starts posting at its time.
Can I add an image when I edit?
Not for X: Dripost posts text to X. An image you attach goes to the other platforms in the post.
Will the post keep its place in the queue after I edit it?
Yes. Editing the words keeps its time. Only moving it, or sending it back to drafts, changes when it goes out.
