How to save Threads drafts and post them later
Here is how to draft Threads posts in Dripost and finish them later. Good Threads posts often begin as a half-thought. A drafts list keeps them where you can finish them, instead of lost in the app on one phone.
Who this is for
People who think in fragments and post later, brands that plan a week of Threads posts at once, and teams where one person writes and another edits.
1. Start a draft
Open the composer, tick Threads and write the start of the idea. You can begin before Threads is connected.
Threads in Dripost is in live testing now: built and posting for real, open to tester accounts, and open to everyone once that test is done.
2. Save it
Choose Draft (“Keep it in Drafts to finish later”) and press Save draft. It lands in Posts, then Drafts, with any photo or video attached.
3. Grow it into a chain
When you come back, keep writing. Past 500 characters the Threads tab says how many posts the chain will be, up to 10. More than that is stopped, so you know to cut.
4. Shape each post
The chain is split at paragraph breaks first. To decide where each post starts, leave a blank line where you want the break and keep each paragraph under 500 characters. Emoji count by their size in bytes, so an emoji-heavy paragraph fills up sooner.
5. Schedule or queue
Switch from Draft to Schedule and pick a time, or press Add to queue to fill the next weekly Threads time.
6. Bring a scheduled post back
If plans change, open the scheduled post and choose More, then Move to drafts. The time clears and nothing else changes.
Keep a few in reserve
A handful of finished drafts means a quiet day never leaves the account silent. When a slot opens in the queue, pick one from Drafts, give it a last read, and press Add to queue.
Plan availability
Drafts are on every plan. Pro adds 5 people, so drafts can pass between writer and editor.
Questions
Are Dripost drafts saved in the Threads app?
No. They stay in Dripost until they are posted.
What if I close the composer without saving?
The draft stays on that device, and the next New asks “Resume unfinished post?”.
Can a draft go to Threads and X together?
Yes. Each keeps its own text, so Threads can have the chain and X a single line.
