How to change the time zone for Instagram scheduling
Here is how to change the time zone for Instagram posts in Dripost, with what happens to posts already scheduled. A Reel set for 7 PM should go out at 7 PM where you mean it. In Dripost that clock is set once, on your account, and every screen reads from it.
Who this is for
Creators whose Instagram audience lives in another country, people who travel or work across zones, and managers scheduling for a client whose followers are somewhere else.
1. See which clock you’re on
The first time you sign in, Dripost saves your browser’s time zone and tells you in one line. After that, every time in the calendar, the composer and the lists shows on that clock, with its short name beside the schedule fields.
2. Change it in Settings
Open Settings, then Profile, and pick from Time zone. Common zones are listed first, then every zone. If the device you are on is somewhere else, a button offers to use this device’s zone instead.
3. What happens to posts already scheduled
Nothing moves. A scheduled Instagram post keeps its exact moment; it just reads differently on the new clock. A post set for 7 PM in India time shows as 5:30 PM once you switch to Dubai, and still goes out at the same instant.
4. When you travel
Open Dripost on a laptop in another zone and it asks once whether to switch, and never switches on its own. Say no and your times stay on your home clock while you’re away.
5. Re-check weekly posting times
Weekly posting times (Posts, then Posting times) are kept as fixed moments too. After a zone change they show at the matching local time, so a 9 AM slot may now read differently; move any that no longer suit your Instagram audience. Where clocks change for daylight saving, a slot also reads an hour different across the change. India has no daylight saving, so a slot set in India time stays put.
6. Pick times for the audience, not for you
If your Instagram followers are mostly in another country, schedule by their evening, not yours. Insights shows your own best time to post, learned from your measured posts and shown on your clock.
Plan availability
Time zones are a per-person setting on every plan. On a team, each person sees times on their own clock, while every post keeps one fixed moment.
Questions
Can each Instagram account have its own time zone?
No. The zone belongs to the person, not the account. Schedule by the audience’s time and let Dripost convert it for you.
Does Instagram need to know my time zone?
No. Dripost publishes at the moment you chose; Instagram shows it to each viewer in their own local time.
Why does my CSV import read times in my zone?
So a sheet written in local times lands at those local times. The import screen names the zone it reads in.
