LinkedIn Live: How to Go Live and What You Need

Live on LinkedIn lets you stream video to your connections in real time. It is not on for every account, and it usually needs a streaming tool. This guide covers who can use it, what you need, how to schedule it and how to promote it.

Who can use Live on LinkedIn

LinkedIn has limited Live to accounts that meet its requirements and have applied or been approved. The rules have changed more than once, so check LinkedIn's Help Center for the current ones before you plan a broadcast.

What you need to go live

A broadcast on LinkedIn is usually run through a streaming tool, which connects to LinkedIn and sends your video. You need a stable internet connection, a camera and a microphone, and a quiet space. Do a test first.

Schedule the broadcast

Create the event in the streaming tool, choose LinkedIn as the destination and set a time. A scheduled event gives you a link to share in advance.

Promote it before and after

Post about the broadcast a few days ahead, with the time and what people will learn. Remind people on the day. After the broadcast, post the replay with a short summary. Dripost schedules those posts. It does not stream the Live itself.
