Tweet approval: get X posts signed off before they go
Here is how to approve posts for X in Dripost before they go out. A brand’s X account can land in trouble in one post. An approval step means nobody’s post goes out on the account until someone responsible says yes.
Who this is for
Agencies running a client’s X account, brands with a legal or PR check on public posts, and teams where interns or juniors write the first drafts.
1. Turn it on for the client
In Settings, then Clients, set the client that owns the X account to “Posts wait for a yes”. The Team screen has the same switch for whichever client is open.
2. Add approvers
Invite the brand manager or client with the approver role. They read and decide; they can’t edit, and they don’t take a paid seat.
3. Send for approval
Writers write the post as normal, within 280 characters counted X’s way, and press Send for approval. It waits in Approvals with its time; approvers are notified.
4. Approve or ask for changes
The approver reads the exact words that will post. Approve, and it goes at its time. Ask for changes needs a comment, which the writer sees on the post.
5. A link for a client with no login
From More on the post, Send to client makes a review link that opens on a phone without signing in, valid for seven days and renewable. Send it by email or WhatsApp.
6. Edits after approval
The yes is for that exact version. If a member other than an owner or admin changes a word or the time, it goes back for a new yes.
When timing matters
X rewards speed, so approvals can feel slow. Approve posts in batches ahead of time, and let owners and admins, who post on their own authority, handle the time-sensitive ones. A yes that arrives after the chosen time asks for a new time rather than posting late.
Plan availability
Approvals and review links are on Pro and Agency. Pro includes 5 people; approvers are free.
Questions
Can the client approve on their phone?
Yes. The review link works on any phone with no account.
Do owners need approval too?
No. Owners and admins post on their own authority; the rule covers other members.
Is there a record of who approved what?
Yes. Each approval is stored against the exact version it approved, with who decided and when.
