How to Schedule YouTube Shorts, in YouTube and in Dripost

You can schedule YouTube Shorts in two places: in YouTube itself, with its Schedule option, or in Dripost. Either way, the video needs to be vertical or square and no longer than three minutes.

1. Make sure it will count as a Short

YouTube says a Short can be up to 3 minutes long, at up to 1080p. Export vertical, 1080 × 1920, and keep it under three minutes.

2. How to schedule shorts on YouTube itself

Upload through YouTube Studio, then in the visibility step choose Schedule and select the date you want it to go out. The video stays private until that date.

Everything is set one video at a time, in the Studio window.

3. Scheduling in Dripost

Upload the video once and choose YouTube. A vertical or square video of three minutes or less goes up as a Short; the preview shows how YouTube will receive it.

Add the title (up to 100 characters) and description (up to 5,000), choose private, unlisted or public, and pick the date and time.

You can add a custom thumbnail. It is used if YouTube has verified the channel; otherwise the video still goes up and you’re told.

4. After it posts

Dripost waits until YouTube has processed the video, then shows the link. If YouTube refuses it, you get an email with the reason and a Retry button, so you aren’t left guessing.
